DISPUTED COURT – DECEMBER 20, 2017

DISPUTED COURT:
A Look at the Challenges To (And From) the WTO Dispute Settlement System

This event, held on December 20, 2017, at the National Press Club focused on the concerns and the politics of this system, including the rulings of the WTO Appellate Body, which has been in operations since the WTO itself went into effect in 1995.   America’s concerns respecting this mechanism for resolving global trade disputes have been highlighted recently by U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer, but they were clearly in evidence long before the Trump Administration took office.
